Product Review: VOV Span Mascara in #1 (Lash and Volume)

Hello loves! I am back again for another product review. The product that I will be reviewing is the new mascara from VOV called Span Mascara. This mascara has two variants, No. 1 Lash and Volume and the other variant which is No.2 Lash and Curling. I got the product for free from Sample Room. The formula of the mascara has Sapodila extract that makes lashes look naturally longer.

The product is housed in a simple, small and slim packaging. It perfectly fits my make-up kit.

Here’s the before and after photo after I applied the mascara. I love how long my lashes look after one coat.

Pros:
– Easy to apply. Maybe its because of the wet formula of the mascara.
– It really adds volume and length to my eye lashes.
– Reasonably priced at Php 985.

Cons:
– It create tiny clumps when over- applied.
– It sometimes smudge on my lower lids maybe because I have oily lids.
– It is hard to remove. You need a really good make-up remover.

Overall I like the mascara and I might repurchase.

Pampering session at Takshing Health and Beauty Center

Last month I received my Takshing gift certificate courtesy of Sample Room. It was a free 30 minute trial of their signature electrotherapy massage. I got curious on what kind of massage it is so I immediately check their website and here’s what I found out.

Takshing Health and Beauty Center is the pioneer of electrotherapy massage here in the Philippines. Their signature massage uses electric current to heal the body. Don’t be fret everyone because Takshing only uses 12 volts of electric current and according to their staff it is guaranteed safe. The electric current effectively unclog blood vessels thus increasing blood circulation that efficiently delivers essential nutrients, antibodies and oxygen through out our body. With that we will experience optimum health benefits. These health benefits are: It improves over all circulation, it provides relief from muscle pains, it provides lymphatic drainage, it aids in the release of toxins in the body, it also helps in body reshaping and toning and it minimize cellulites, it also make our skin more toned, radiant and controls acne.

The spa’s interior is good and clean. Their staffs are all friendly and very knowledgeable of what they are doing. When I entered the spa, I felt relax bacause of the lavander essential oil that I smelled all over the place. Before doing the massage proper I was asked to fill up a form for them to know my current health conditions. Next I was asked to soak my feet in a basin with warm water to remove dirt prior to the application of the node conductor.

Then I was asked to enter the room to have my clothes changed. My masseuse advised me to remove my jewelries or anything metal in my body.

Takshing is very strict with cleanliness.

They have cute pajamas and towel inside.

After I soaked my feet, Ms. Chen applied the massage cream on my foot. Then she wrapped my foot with a bandage-like sock and attatched the node. My masseuse started massaging my other leg and I can feel the current travelling all over my body. She was standing in a grounding mat that enabled her to act like a conductor.

I felt relaxed and rejuvinated after the massage. I actually had a nap while she’s massaging me. =)

Ms. Chen advised me to drink plenty of water to flush out the toxins in my body. She also reminded me not to take a bath 6 hours after the treatment.

BDJ Beauty Social 2014: Camp Gorgeous

Hello dearies! September is fast approaching and this means Christmas season is near! Yay! =) For beauty enthusiast like me September also means another BDJ beauty social. I never miss this yearly event from BDJ because I learn a lot from the speakers of the talks I attend. Another is that I get to bond with my fellow blogger friends and we share things about make-up and skin care.

Product Review: Colour Collection Lip Perfection Lipstick with Argan oil in Amore

Hello ladies! Today I will be doing a review of the latest lipstick that I got from Sample Room. It is the newest lipstick from Colour Collection called Lip Perfection lipstick with Argan Oil. Argan oil is known to be the “Liquid Gold” from Morocco. It is a plant based oil extracted from the kernels of argan tree. The tree is endemic in Morocco. This oil has many uses. Moroccans usually used this as a dressing in their pasta and salads because of its destinct flavor. Today, argan oil is being used as an ingredient in skin care products and cosmetics because of its beauty benefits. Argan oil contains high levels of tocopherol (vitamin E), phenols (alcohol-like substance), carotene (vitamin A), squalene (immunologic adjuvant) and unsaturated fatty acids (Oleic and Linoleic). These compounds are known to have good benefits in our health. Argan oil can be used as a moisturizer for the face, hair and even on nails.

Most cosmetics with argan oil are highly priced that’s why I got ecstatic when I saw Sample Room’s latest run of Colour Collection lipsticks. Out of the 3 shades I only got 1 which is Amore.

The lipstick is housed in a simple white and gold plastic tube. The packaging reminds me of Em Cosmetics.

What a lovely coral red shade. This shade is perfect for summer.

Pros:
* The product is very easy to apply. It glides on my lips smoothly.
* Price is reasonable. For a product with argan oil I think the P399 price is ok.
* Very moisturizing. I’ve been using this almost everyday and I did not experience lip dryness. It made my lips soft and supple.

Cons:
* The packaging breaks easily. Actually when my sample arrived the cap of the lipstick has this minor crack. Be careful not to drop.
* Too sheer. You need to apply at least two to achieve a darker effect.

Beauty Report: Sampleroom.ph :)

I am a very practical girl. I don’t usually purchase products that will not work for me. I am also very picky when it comes to the product ingredients. I usually choose products that are organic and has natural ingredients. As a beauty and skin care junkee, it is important that you try first a product before you purchase them so you know whether the product will work for you or not.

Sample room started last December 3, 2012 with the purpose of “Try before you buy”. Sample room is basically a sampling website that offers different beauty, health care and even spa products for free but you need to shoulder the shipping cost. Each product has a corresponding points and for you to be able to purchase a sample you need points. Upon registration you will be given 100 points for free to get samples. To be able to get your points back, you need to review the product after 5 days of use. Sample room is very strict in approving reviews because they want honest review for each product. Here are some of the products that I grabbed from sample room.

Belo Acne Pro. One of the products that I purchased after trying. It works wonders on my occassional pimple breakouts.

Burt’s bees lip shimmer. One of the best lip tint that I’ve tried.

Spa/Salon Review: Princess Hazel Salon and Spa :)

I love going to the salon and spa to destress. This is my favorite way of relaxation. Last July 26, 2014, me and my bestfriend went to the newly opened Princess Hazel Salon and Spa to redeem our free manicure and pedicure service worth P450 courtesy of sampleroom.ph. Yes, you read it right FREE SPA SERVICE! (Yay! for freebies) 🙂 The salon is located at the second floor of Pacific Century Tower in Quezon City.

The salon has this unique “royalty theme”. I am amazed of the beautiful classy victorian interior of the salon. The gold and purple color of the curtains reminds me of my Alma Mater 🙂

Personal Update + Product Review: Avon Over Nature Lipstick in Pink lily

Hello there everyone! Sorry for not posting. I’ve been on a blog hiatus for 3 months due to some errands that I need to do. I am currently fixing some papers regarding my Abu Dhabi Nurse application. Oh yes, I am finally decided to work as a nurse abroad. Anyways, enough of the personal updates, I am back to give you a short review of the latest lipstick collection that Avon Philippines released. It is called Over Nature. The lipstick contains orchid extract and wild rose oil that nourishes the lips making it soft and supple. The lipstick collection has eight shades ranging from reds, pinks and mauves.

The packaging reminds me of Ellana minerals. The lipstick is housed in a glossy, card board tube with a bright orchid design. The design is very feminine. The color of the packaging  is based on the color of the year 2014 which is Radiant Orchid.

The lipstick has a light floral scent. The scent is not over powering but I still preferred unscented lipsticks. The texture of the lipstick is creamy and very moisturizing.

Among the eight shades, I purchased Pink lily (N13) a salmon-pink shade which is perfect for everyday wear.
